My first 'Ayam Pansuh'(chicken cooked in bamboo) dish

I finally cooked my Sarawak ayam pansuh(Chicken cooked in Bamboo)
during the Muslim fasting month,taking advantage
of the readily available bamboo which is normally used to cooked 'lemang'
or glutinious rice cooked in bamboo,
a favourite dish for those who are breaking fast.
The recipe was posted some time back and it is cooked the same way
as the 'lemang'.
I used a charcoal stove instead of fire wood and it was ready in about an hour.

Visit to Miri Crocs Farm

Our journey up north from Miri to Kuala Baram leads us to the Miri Crocrodile Farm
where everyone was so happy to get in probably because their journey here will be incomplete
without seeing the famous Sarawak Crocs personally
and one even leave with some crocs teeth as souvenier,
luckily the crocs private parts starts at RM350!!!
if not some fellow would have bought it,
i wonder what was all that for????

with the most expensive bridge toll, RM15 one way
even more than Penang Bridge.

PD sunrise

Here are three sunrise shots i took on the way to breakfast
before work starts early in the morning in PD.

Our visit to Bungai Beach

Our one day sightseeing trip from Bintulu to Miri have its first stop here at Bungai Beach,where the gorilla mural and The Bishop's Nose arch is situated.
We then move on to Tg Batu,Miri, where we found the Horse Head Arch
and then to Miri for a pitstop before visiting the Crocodile Farm at Kuala Baram.

Kampung Kuala Nyalau revisit

We revisited Kampung Kuala Nyalau again on the way to see Batu Selungun,
the Elephant Rock of Malaysia.
It is from here that we will take our 20 minutes boat ride to the rock
where our crew member Helmi will be bringing us in his relatives boat.

Houses here are either build on higher ground or the tradisional Kedayan style,
on stilts at least 3m above ground
for safety against wild animals and floods.
