Two temples of Charas Cave.

Charas cave is one of the most well know cave in Panching Hill
which is situated about 27km from Kuantan.
Among the attraction in the caves are a sleeping Buddha statue of a Thai Buddhist temple
and Shivalingam of a Hindu Temple.

This is the old Thai Buddhist monastery,the buddhist monks have since left for home

and it is now in the hands of a local caretaker.

Getting there:-
It is best to have your own transport because the Panching Hill
is about 3.5 km off the main road in a palm oil plantation.

  3. Not as glamourous as Batu Caves,
    normally visitors will also go the Sg Lembing Museum.

  5. Awesome cave. It has some similarities to Batu Cave in Kuala Lumpur.

  6. Yah,quite similar except Batu Caves is many times bigger and this one have a Buddhist temple.

  7. Ehhh, I remember this cave. I visited it when I was still at a boarding school in Kuantan long time ago. Wow, it has changed a lot. There was no statue, no lighting, no nothing back then. I think it needs a little bit of more publicity so that people would be interested to visit this wonderful cave.

  8. You could have visited Bukit Sagu caves then because the temples have been there for i think almost 40yrs.
    You're right the place needs some publicity.
