Seberang Pintasan Dungun used to be a long journey by road
until a nice new bridge across the Dungun River was build recently.
There are a few nice and quiet scenic fishing village in the area
like Kampung Teluk Bidara and Kampung Balik Bukit.
A fishing boat anchored at the beach of Kampung Teluk Bidara.
The beautiful rocks formation awaits visitor here
like this one, shaped like a cannon waiting to fire,
accessible at low tide.
A fisherman going out to check on his 'bubu',
a fish trap placed some distance from the shore.
He will refill it with bait
and put some new shade over the trap to attract fishes into it
besides collecting trapped fishes.
A passing boat.
A small cave carved out by erosion.
The new bridge view from the rocks.
Bukit Bauk will never be far from here anymore.
Kampung Teluk Bidara.
Kuala Dungun is over the other side of the river.
Across this is the Teluk Bidara beach.

beautiful. I've always liked to see coconut trees along the coast like that. Those rocks that come out of the water seem look too rough to step on bare-footed. You're so lucky to go all over Msia Thomas. I think you shud be given some kind of award for promoting a lot of places that are still unknown to many Malaysian. :-)

ReplyDeletetiap kali melawat blog u...ianya tak pernah mengecewakan..foto yg u amik tersangat cantik,asli...
you bring back my memories way back 40+ years ago. this is places I used to play with my friends.... panjat bukit rumah api, lastik burung and cari buah kemunting..... and the place that we all ke sungai... sometimes i write about thats all in my kampung nelayan
ReplyDeletejeragang,
ReplyDeleteThis is one place with a breath taking view of the far away Bukit Bauk, beautiful rocks formation and nice kampung people.
By the way there're still plenty of birds and kamunting fruits by the road up the light house
which is too rusty and dangerous to climb as some bolts and nuts are missing,
i only managed to climb halfway.
I never panjat that light house years already Thomas..... just bawa kereta naik bukit only
ReplyDeleteJeragang,
ReplyDeleteDah tak boleh bawa kereta ke atas sebab ada gate,
lagipun besi rumah api ni dah reput, saya panjat suku saja.
Rock formation take years, as beautiful as Pancake Rocks in Punakaiki, NZ. Cherish that natural phenomenon ... !!!
