Mining Steam Engine of Perak

This Steam Engine of 1877,manufactured by R Carret & Sons Ltd,England,
was bought in by the then British Residen of Perak
Sir Hugh Low,for use in the tin mines of Larut and Kampar.
It was used to turn a generator to generate electricity to run pumps
used in the mining operation.
It's an exhibit at Perak Museum in Taiping.

  2. Very well. I was discussing a trip to Perak with a friend this morning. I think I should consider going to Perak Museum then. Old engines like these never fail to fascinate me. Thanks for sharing Thomas.
