Long House visit~RH Aloh Ak Suduk

RH Aloh is one of the longest long house in Bintulu
with 38 doors(bilik) and is situated on the road to Kuala Tatau
about 35 km from Bintulu.
This long house still doesn't have electricity and piped water
although there is an electric transmission cables
and water pipe passing by and have to rely on portable generators
at night and collected rain water for it's daily used and
a stream in front during drought.
A very sad state indeed even after almost 50 years of joining Malaysia.
Let us hope that folks here will be able to enjoy these very basic utilities
including fixed line telephone
before the next Harvest Festival and i will like to take this opportunity
to wish all my Iban and Kadazan friends a very Happy Gawai and Kaamatan Festival
and hope you guys and gals don't drink too much.

How nice to have the house number one.

Most of the folks here rely on agriculture by planting  paddy,oil palm,vegetables and fruit trees
besides having other employment in nearby booming oil town of Bintulu.

Our host Mr Richard Billion with Durai at Gui's place RH Buli.

Kids here are a cheerful lot and are our hopes for the future.
