The Lost Beserah Pillbox

I finally found the lost Beserah Pillbox
after more than 6 visits searching for it
and it had already sunk into the Beserah River
only to be visible during low tide.
Also recorded are the position of two other pillbox
at Sungai Karang Pillbox no:2 and Batu Hitam Pillbox no:2
thus bringing the number of British WW2 Pillbox
recorded in Kuantan so far  to 20.

Nice sandy Beserah Beach.

The Sungai Karang Pillbox no:2 is about 300 meters before Swiss Garden Resort.

The Batu Hitam Pillbox no:2 is behind a house
about 100 meters before Pak Su Seafood
and it is below a cement fencing.

Sungai Selangor Dam

The scenic Sungai Selangor Dam at Kuala Kubu Baru,
is one of the most important source of clean water
for the Klang Valley and it comes with a very nice and clean catchment area.
Let us hope that it is kept that way for a very long-long time
as our future well being depends on it.
(and by the way, these photos were taken last year)

The beautifully landscaped road leading to the dam
which's about 5km from the town of Kuala Kubu Baru
by the KKB to Fraser's Hill and Raub road.

The 110 metre-high rockfill Sungai Selangor Dam designed to store
and regulate a maximum capacity of 235 million cubic metres.

The spillway.

The Pertak Village, modern relocated aboriginal settlement.

Crystal clear water leaving the dam,
i wonder at which part of the river the color changes to brownish.

Bukit Tebuk Tunnel

The Bukit Tebuk Tunnel which is about 120 meters long
at Kampung Che Lijah in Dungun, build in 1935
is a surviving remnants of the Bukit Besi Mines and its glorious past.
Trains transporting iron ore and passengers used to run pass this historic tunnel
from Bukit Besi to the jetty at Sura.
