Sungai Selangor Dam

The scenic Sungai Selangor Dam at Kuala Kubu Baru,
is one of the most important source of clean water
for the Klang Valley and it comes with a very nice and clean catchment area.
Let us hope that it is kept that way for a very long-long time
as our future well being depends on it.
(and by the way, these photos were taken last year)

 





The beautifully landscaped road leading to the dam
which's about 5km from the town of Kuala Kubu Baru
by the KKB to Fraser's Hill and Raub road.







The 110 metre-high rockfill Sungai Selangor Dam designed to store
 and regulate a maximum capacity of 235 million cubic metres.

i wonder at which part of the river the color changes to brownish.

    wahhh.. Dam... semester lepas baru belajar pasal Dam.. dan pernah lawat temenggor Dam kat perak tu.. =)

      Faaein,
      Dam design is very important subject,
      about 130 years ago a dam nearby here
      broke and damaged the nearby Kuala Kubu town.

    The dam looks like a huge lake, I wonder how come Selangor is facing water shortage. Or is it just a political drama by some quarters?

      let me put it this way,big expensive decision shouldn't be decided when the term of the government is about to end,remember the infamous crooked bridge saga?
