Patuxay- The Arc de Triomphe of Laos

Patuxay or Victory Gate which resembles the Arc de Triomphe in Paris
is a war monument dedicated to those who fought in the struggle of independence from France.
It was build between 1957 to 1968 and is situated at the end of Lang Xang Avenue
in Vientiane,the capital of Laos.

 













Interior decoration with depictions of the gods Vishnu,Brahma and Indra.

    If I may guess, the cars in Laos, the steering wheels are on the left hand side, judging from the "U-turn" sign on the first pic

      Yah,it's left hand drive following it's French coloniser
      and it's a real headache especially at junction and round about.
