Back to the 80ies-Taman Negara

Photos from my 2 trips to the Malaysia National Park
or better known as Taman Negara in the eighties.
It was established in 1938 as King George V National Park
and renamed to Taman Negara after independence,
4,343sq km of the world's oldest tropical rainforest.
.

with the charming Batek people at their temporary camp at Kuala Tahan
while they wait to work as guide to Gunung Tahan.
took this shot after chatting with them
about their most expensive procession of the moment,
a transistor radio and their passion for song
for Taiwan's songbird,Teresa Teng.

The giant tree of Taman Negara.

Lubuk Simpon  picnic site of Tahan river.

on a boat by the Tahan river, notice the transistor radio from the eighties.

Bats of Gua Telinga.

  7. The hide is Bumbun Tahan, not Bumbun Tabing. The hill in the backdrop is Bukit Teresek.
