Food may taste different here in Laos like this
very unusual food,Sour Swallow at Phonsavan,
where migratory swallows escaping winter from Russia
are caught and eaten.
A delicate bird trap for catching migratory swallows begining August and September,
manned by an operator who waits in the hut
for the unlucky bird which will normally land on the branch above
and the bird trapper will slowly open a piece of the 'attap' roof and
use a long pole laced with rubber gum at the end to immobilise
the swallow which will drop down in front of the hut
and further attracting more of its kind to come to its aid and
when there are enough, the trapper will close the nets which
are under tension on the left and right of the helpless swallow.
The canteen at Site 2,Plain of Jars.
Fried grasshoppers and maggots on the streets of Vientiane.
Barbecued banana.
These are dried and later made into chips.
Our usual meal daily, noodle soup and bread and fried eggs.
Laotian mixed rice.
All you can fill on a plate for 10,000 kip(RM5) at Luang Prabang night market.
This street is sort of a China Town of Vientiane.
A pancake stall in Phonsavan.
Powerful tonic brew of fermented bear paws and snakes at Luang Prabang.
Muslim food in Vientiane, quite rare considering that there are less than a thousand muslims
out of about 7 million in Laos,
please take note that most of the other food here are non halal.
Nazim in Vang Vieng.
A night market scene in Vientiane.

PD Pillbox
Port Dickson Pillbox at Purnama Beach,
situated in the compound of an old colonial beach front bungalow
which probably dates back to the early part of last century.
The million dollar question is,
who,when and why it's build
or is it just a replica?
Tanjung Tuan at the far end.
Ruins of what seem to be a jetty.
The old colonial bungalow behind the pillbox.
TNB holiday condominium not far from the pillbox.
