This old Iban Parang Nyabor belongs to Mr.Kuling Ganing, a shutdown crew member.
It have been passed on from his father to him and it must be more than a hundred years old.
It's tilt (hulu) is made of deer's horn and hand carved with fine design which Mr Kuling
was unable to duplicate on another sword he made from chain saw metal.
The hilt maker he engaged for the job just gave up.
This hand carving rivals that of the chinese ivory carvings.

i think there must be some special procedures to soften it
before it is able to be carved.
